We’ll bypass the typical tourist traps to explore the city’s oldest corridors, shifting from the maritime majesty of the waterfront to the legendary cobblestone streets of the North End. Our journey begins at the iconic Quincy Market, the crown jewel of the city’s 19th-century urban renewal. Standing beneath its massive copper dome, you’ll discover the market's transformation from a wholesale meat center to a world-class gathering spot. We'll skip the standard food court fare to savor a rich, creamy Lobster Mac & Cheese loaded with sweet chunks of local lobster, while admiring the Greek Revival architecture that has stood for nearly 200 years. As we cross into the North End, the aroma of roasted garlic and fresh-baked bread signals our arrival in Boston’s oldest residential neighborhood. We’ll duck down a narrow, hidden alleyway to find a traditional salumeria, a local treasure where the rafters are hung with aging provolone and spicy meats. We continue our exploration by weaving through the historic residential streets to enjoy an authentic North End Pizza. After our savory starts, we’ll take a guided walk past the ancient brickwork of Paul Revere’s House. We will walk about 0.6 miles over the course of 45 mins, and suggest that you wear comfortable shoes. Heels are not suggested on the cobblestone streets.
Restrictions
Our tour does not cater to vegetarian dietary preferences. The North End tour is not recommended for anyone with gluten or dairy allergies. We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or any impairments requiring special assistance. Stroller accessible, though we visit some small shops where they may need to keep the strollers outside. Sometimes we also sit downstairs (no elevator) so they may need to carry the stroller or take the child out while we’re eating.
Meeting & Pickup
Please meet in front of James Michael Curley Statue, Congress St, North St, Boston, MA 02108, United States. Your guide will be waiting with an orange umbrella so they are easy to spot.
