The Experience

What your day looks like

Glorious Athens & Cape Sounion Step into the heart of Ancient Greece, where philosophy, democracy, and legendary myths were born. Athens, a city dominated by 5th-century BC landmarks, is a treasure trove of history and culture. Stand in awe before the Acropolis, home to the majestic Parthenon, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Discover the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro), the only stadium in the world made entirely of marble, and delve into Greece’s rich past at the Acropolis Museum, where history comes to life. Soak in breathtaking panoramic views from Mount Lycabettus, rising 300 meters above sea level, before admiring the city’s neoclassical gems—the National Library, Athens University, and the Academy of Athens. Experience Greek tradition at Syntagma Square, where the changing of the Royal Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier captivates visitors. Wander through Monastiraki, a vibrant district filled with ancient ruins, Byzantine churches, and a bustling flea market. Then, immerse yourself in the charm of Plaka, with its narrow cobblestone streets, sidewalk cafés, and traditional tavernas, offering a glimpse into the city's old-world charm. In contrast to Athens' lively energy, the Athens Riviera provides a serene escape, with its coastal beauty and picturesque seaside drive. The journey culminates at Cape Sounion, where the legendary Temple of Poseidon stands proudly on a cliff, overlooking the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. A marvel of the Golden Age of Athens, this sacred sanctuary is breathtaking, making it a perfect finale to a journey through history, culture, and Greece’s timeless beauty.

What a great tour. It included all of the sights that one would expect to see in Athens and the surrounding country side. Amazing history. Our tour guide Yannis was on time (pick up at the port and drop off at our hotel) and his personality, knowledge and enthusiasm for his country made the tour so fun and enjoyable for all 4 of us. His choice for our lunch was outstanding…….both the food and the view of the sea from our table. We would highly recommend this tour to others. Ask for Yannis!

Eva was a phenomenal guide, informative, personable, and so passionate about the history. We learned so much about the Acropolis and the Parthenon, from its partial destruction to the current efforts to rebuild it, stone by stone. It was surreal to stand on a rock, knowing how far back its history stretches. Spirros, our driver, was also amazing, he gave us a full view of the city, from the Temple of Zeus to the Parliament and Presidential buildings, all while sharing insights and pointing out small details that made the drive so rich. We especially loved the coastal drive to the Temple of Poseidon. Even without a guide at that stop, the views alone were unforgettable. We ended the day at a small, family-owned seafood spot where we picked out fresh-caught fish and had an intimate, uniquely Greek meal of red snapper and calamari. It was the perfect ending to a day we’ll never forget.

The tour was amazing. I wish we knew that the Temple of Poseidon was about an hour and a half from Athens. The Acropolis and the Parthenon were amazing, crowded but definitely a bucket list item to see. I am not sure we would have gone to the Temple of Poseidon if we knew that it was as far away as it was, just because of how worn out we were. The guide was great. He knew his history and how to get around. The van was clean and comfortable. I would book again but probably not do the Temple of Poseidon and just grab lunch by the sea.
