A NT Site of Conservation Significance, the salt lakes provide minerals for animals, and the cattle do not require supplementary lick blocks for additional nutrients, as these vast lakes supply what they need in the saltbush that surrounds. You’ll have the opportunity to taste the samphire that grows around the salt lakes, and learn how these hardy plants contribute to the station’s sustainable agricultural practices.
