The Experience
What your day looks like
You WILL be leaving the United States and Entering Canada on this bus tour. Follow in the footsteps of the 1898 Gold Rush stampeders up the White Pass and into the Yukon! Start your adventure by traveling up the Klondike Highway while you take in wildlife, waterfalls, glacier-covered mountains & views of the White Pass Railroad. Once into Canada (Province of British Columbia aka B.C.) you'll pass through the subarctic alpine tundra of the Tormented Valley, with views of Summit Lake. You'll continue through B.C. where you'll stop at Canada Customs (passports are required) at Fraser B.C, and the Yukon Territory. Photo opportunities will be available at the British Columbia and Yukon signs. Our featured stop is the Tagish Lake Dog Sledding Camp. Here, you'll get a glimpse into the history of sled dog use throughout Canada and Alaska. You'll get to see the dogs in action and play with puppies & go on a summer dog cart ride pulled by real Alaskan Huskies! There is a gift shop for snacks and souvenirs to take home as a way to remember this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Restrictions
Valid passport required for non-US & Canadian citizens US & Canadian citizens may bring a birth certificate with valid photo id in lieu of passport. This excursion is not able to accommodate guests with service animals or mobility assistive devices/wheelchairs - unless accompanied by a caregiver. Smaller, collapsible chairs/scooters are transported only on a space-available basis, and a caregiver must assist our driver-guide with collapsing & stowing the chair/scooter.
Meeting & Pickup
Skagway, Alaska & Tagish Lake, BC/Yukon, Please arrive at the meeting location at least 15 minutes before scheduled departure time. We will pick you up at the docks based on your ship or at your hotel in Skagway. There are three cruise ports here in Skagway, we will have a representative at every port just past port security. They will be sporting some red attire, likely be driving a red bus, and have a RED SIGN that says Skagway Tours on it. We will pick you up just past port security by your ship!

Skagway Tours was great. We loved out tour guide and ride into the Yukon. We learned a lot about the area, got to stop and get a picture of the Yukon sign and the Alaska sign. Very organized. The Dog Camp was not what I expected. We felt rushed, and the staff was not friendly at all. My son was so excited to pet the puppies (only reason we went) and he had maybe 2 minutes. I would use Skagway Tours again, but I would not go back to the dog camp.

This was a great trip. Connor was super knowledgeable and also really funny. The drive up was beautiful and we had a wonderful time with the dogs. Great picture opportunities as well.

Loved the puppies and enjoyed the ride with the huskies. We took our grandkids and they wanted to “sneak” a couple huskies on the bus! Lol!

Skagway tours was great. The tour guide, Trey, was the best part of the day. He told stories and made the ride interesting and educational. The dog sled camp was my least favorite. The staff was not friendly and we had 30 seconds to pet the baby puppies and that was the main reason we came was for my little one to pet the puppies. The staff did not interact well and were not personable. We had a total of about 4 min to interact and 30 seconds to hold a puppy and snap a picture before getting on the bus. Would I pay to do it again - never. It www honestly not worth the money. Would I go on a tour with Trey being the guide- absolutely.

Nice way to see the country away from the city. Saw waterfalls, lake and some wildlife. Getting to pet the puppies was fun. And having the big dogs take us for a ride was good. Driver was very good and gave us good photo ops in front of the Alaska and Yukon signs.

We also had a lot of fun dog sledding and playing with the puppies. We saw bears on the side of the road safely from inside the bus.

Tour was great. The driving part was longer than expected and we wish we had more time with with dogs and mushers to really get to know them but overall it was a great experience.
