Venture into the heart of Alaska’s wilderness by air, water, and ice! This is a rare opportunity to experience the Taku Glacier from all possible perspectives. Begin your adventure with an aerial exploration of the breathtaking Juneau Iceeld and surrounding Tongass National Forest before touching down at the isolated Taku Point. Continue with an hour-long airboat expedition of the area and experience close-up views of the Taku Glacier as you cruise its 5-mile terminus. Next, fly up to the surface of the icefield and explore the pristine features of the area’s largest glacier by foot. With viewing opportunities of the glacier’s dramatic face and deep blue crevasses, this is sure to be a truly unforgettable Alaskan experience.

What to know before booking

Included

Transportation to and from the helicopter base Protective layers: rain pants, over boots, and a floatation jacket

What to Bring

Dress for a 10-15°F temperature decrease from sea level (at the cruise ship docks) to the glacier. We recommend wearing long socks, sturdy, closed-toe footwear, and warm layers. Additionally, you may want to bring gloves and a hat. so you can pick up items upon your return. Be sure to bring your sunglasses, camera, and a thirst for adventure! Bring your own reusable water bottle and receive 10% o any item in our gift shop.

Restrictions

Must be able to ascend two flights of stairs. Backpacks and purses cannot be accommodated on this tour. We offer secure storage options so you can pick up items upon your return. Due to safety protocol, we do not allow selfie sticks, iPads, or drones on this tour.

Meeting & Pickup

We will pick up guests from the Goldbelt Tram at their scheduled departure time. We recommend guests that are arriving to Juneau by cruise ship to be picked up/dropped off at the Goldbelt/Mt. Roberts Tram as it is a convenient location for cruise ship guests. If you have guests that are staying at a hotel we are able to accommodate a different pick-up/drop-off location, we just need to be notified so the reservation reflects that information and our drivers know where to go.
