Norris Glacier Dog Sled Adventure

Definitely a highlight of our trip to Alaska. The helicopter flight was smooth and amazing. We loved the dog mushing experience and interacting with the dogs. Great experience!

Best experience we've ever had on a cruise excursion. If you are thinking it seems expensive, let us tell you right now, it was worth every cent. Norris has an agreement to leave no trace. The trail and dog house areas were pristine! The dogs were healthy and excited to run. They give you good glacier boots that slip on right over your own shoes. The helecopter ride to the mushers camp was fascinating! So much to see and learn. Like being transported to another world. Don't miss this opportunity. Especially if you have kids.

We had a great experience, start to finish on this. We set out on a cruise but booked our excursions late, so we had very few options of things we would be interested in. We ended up being able to book this outside of the cruise and it was extremely smooth. Project Expedition was very communicative and responsive with any questions we had and made us feel at ease for what was to be the highlight of our trip. The weather had us concerned going into it, but everything held off enough for us to be able to complete our excursion, and it was really top notch. The helicopter ride was breathtaking and we truly appreciated every employee's clear passion and dedication to the event. The musher's camp was such a cool experience and it doesn't get better than petting dogs on a glacier after a scenic flight. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

This excursion was our whole group's favorite and worth every penny! The professionalism of the helicopter pilots and those on at the dog camp were top-notch. It was my first time on a helicopter but I felt safe the whole time and they explained what we were seeing, including pointing out wildlife below. The dogs were energetic and friendly. Expert mushers explained that all the dogs are personally owned and cared for, not a company, and many by the mushers at the excursion. Each dog had their personality and the mushers showed concern and care for each one. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride around the glacier and interacting with the dogs. Our mushers compete in the Iditarod so we plan to watch the next race and cheer them on! One note about cash and cards while on the glacier - the team at the base (where you get fitted for boots) tells you to store purses or items you don't need. The mushers are separate and tipped, like other service providers. Take cash or they have pay services like Venmo available. There's also an opportunity to purchase a photo taken of your whole group during the dog sled ride which can be purchased with a card.
