Our Nightly Manta Ray snorkel is a portal to a realm rarely witnessed by human eyes. With custom-made high-intensity LED light boards, we invite you into the nocturnal playground of these gentle giants. Imagine floating weightlessly as the Manta Rays glide elegantly through the darkness, inches away from your awe-struck gaze. With wingspans of up to 16 feet and weighing up to 1,600 pounds, it’s truly awe-inspiring, but safe as mantas have no teeth, stingers, or barbs. They are filter-feeders and are here strictly to gorge themselves upon microscopic plankton attracted to the lights. Before the adventure begins, you’ll receive a safety and Manta Ray briefing, ensuring you’re prepared for this otherworldly encounter. Our skilled swim guides will expertly navigate you through the experience, positioning you for close and safe interactions with these magnificent creatures.

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
We will check you in, size your wetsuits and snorkels. Our captains and crew will brief you on safety, for yourself, and the Manta Rays. From our slip G-8 in Honokohau harbor, we will take a quick 15-to-20-minute ride in our beautiful, nice riding 31’ Ocean Craft RHIB. We will travel to one of two locations. Snorkeling gear, wetsuits, water, Hawaiian juices, hot cocoa, hot tea, potato chips, chocolate chip cookies, and a GoPro 13 video and photos are included.

All guests must confirm they do not have any pre-existing medical conditions, including neck or back injuries, that could be aggravated by this activity. Guests must be able to climb a vertical boat ladder without assistance. Expecting mothers are not permitted to participate.
Meeting & Pickup
Many Mahalos for booking with us, Hawaii Marine Life Charters, and check-in area are located at Honokohau Harbor slip G-8. We are reached from both north and south of Kailua-Kona via Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Hwy 19). Follow the signs to the Harbor entrance and turn on Kealakehe Parkway heading towards the ocean. !!!!IMPORTANT!!!! !!!!PLEASE MAKE SURE TO TAKE YOUR THIRD RIGHT AFTER ENTERING HARBOR, TURN RIGHT BEFORE THE LIGHT BROWN RESTROOMS WITH RED ROOF. My client and family had an amazing experience. They said it was "EPIC!" Not only did they see the manta rays, but they also saw dolphins and whales. This was during the month of February. They also mentioned that since this boat was smaller, it was a bit bumpy but they were well taken care of and with less folks on the boat, there was more flexibility to cruise around certain spots and also leave sooner if folks were done with the tour. They also shared with me some GoPro footage captured by the tour company the same night and it looked amazing!
