Explore highlights of Kohala, the Big Island’s northwestern coast, on a full-day adventure. Make your way to one of several central meeting locations. The tour starts as you drive along the coast and pass through the charming plantation towns of Hawi and Kapaau. Head to a private nature reserve and a restored, ancient, Hawaiian agricultural site, where you'll follow your guide on a relaxed hike. Along the way, see several Kohala waterfalls that dot the lush and diverse landscape. Stop at the last fall for a chance to jump into the refreshing pool and cool off under the cascade. You'll also enjoy an included picnic lunch with views of Mokulanikila. Relax on the ride home as we take you back to the original meeting points.

Restrictions
Guests should be able to hike on uneven or rocky terrain. We sometimes encounter cool, wet or muddy conditions. Other tour restrictions may apply. Expect to cover approximately 1.5 miles in 1 - 2 hours. Is there elevation gain? Expect to do minimal climbing. The estimated elevation gain over the course of the hike is about 200’. Water temperature varies by season and the amount of rainfall. Temperatures range between 60 and 70 degrees F.
