What your day looks like
Witness one of nature’s most stunning events, watching the sunrise atop Maui’s largest volcano, Mauna Haleakala! We will provide everyone with an awesome interpretive vehicle tour of the Haiku, Makawao, Kula, and Haleakala Ranch areas on our way up the mountain to the 9,740 ft. summit of Haleakala to watch the sunrise from atop Haleakala! After sunrise, take in the sights of the crater and enjoy an interpretive tour of Haleakala National Park on your way down to the bike staging area located at 6,500 ft. elevation. This is where guests begin their bike ride down the world-famous “switchbacks of Haleakala.” There are great photo stops along the way to take in the beautiful views. Once all guests complete their bike ride down the switchbacks, they will board the vehicle and go back up to do it again! That's right, the heart of the downhill and regarded the best part of the ride, so nice we do it twice! After that second run, we proceed to an area called Triangles, which is above the historic paniolo town of Makawao. Guests will resume their bike ride here and we recommend making a stop to explore the charming town of Makawao and grab a bite to eat. The bike ride continues back to our shop located in the quaint North Shore town of Haiku.

Restrictions
Must have recent bike riding experience. Be free of medications that may cause drowsiness. Not suitable for pregnant women. For Children, pregnant women, and less experience bikers we recommend our Vehicle tours. Groups of 6 or more must book a guided bike tour.
Meeting & Pickup
Check in at 810 Haiku Road #120. Transportation, provided exclusively to 6500 feet, just outside the park entrance.

Beautiful ride! Really cold at the top, but gloves and jackets were provided. Stopped for lunch along the way and then really enjoyed some time in Paia after the ride. Glad we drove our own car so we had flexibility. One mis-step: the confirmation indicated at 3AM start time, but when we arrived at the bike shop, we were told that we were an hour early (we definitely would have appreciated the extra hour's sleep).
