What travelers are saying
Positives: Wonderful views and adventurous experience. Guides were fun. Sights were incredible. The private island is a fantastic add-on. The lunch served was delicious and enjoyed by our group. Although, we did not get enough time to snorkel. (Only about 30mins) Negatives: The major negative to point out were the physical demands of the Day’s itinerary. There were several senior citizens on board the zodiac speedster, and they were struggling to maintain their balance and positioning on the boat. You are required to sit on the sides right next to each other, holding a rope and using toe-strap holds. The boat is then hitting wave after wave for a good 70 minutes each way. The journey was 60 miles round trip. One senior passenger busted her eye when a swell knocked her head into a metal bar. Another was sea sick. I personally was sore for days after and had scrapes on my knuckles from holding onto the straps. At the island, access was only possible via a very narrow, rocky and slippery 20 yard path up from the water. This resulted in some risky and treacherous moments as we walked up barefoot. The rocks and stones were painful and slippery. The older passengers needed escorting and there were some moments where one misstep could’ve easily resulted in a tumble on the rocks and a serious contusion or worse. Safer stepping stones or a non-rocky path would be safer and allow for a lower risk to those without the balance and strength to safely traverse. The younger passengers seemed to handle it all just fine, and even enjoyed the raucous boat ride. But the older passengers did not. I would definitely do this again, but would advise those who are not physically confident to reconsider. It requires a lot of stamina and balance/strength, especially on those rougher days. As stated by our captain, our morning tour was apparently “a lake”. Yet, we still had several hard hitting zodiac slams. I can only imagine what a slightly rougher day might result in for some passengers. You get the best access to the coast on this boat size, with some unforgettable vistas — but carefully weigh your capabilities to enjoy such a physically demanding (7hours) round trip adventure.
