Traversing the only corridor in the park open to wheeled vehicles during the winter months, you will explore the 50-mile stretch between Mammoth Hot Springs and Cooke City. Led by expert naturalists, this safari leverages the stark white canvas of the snow to track apex predators and massive bison herds with a clarity and intimacy that is impossible to find during the summer months.

Frost-Covered Departure: Begin your journey in a climate-controlled vehicle, departing from Bozeman, Gardiner, or Mammoth as the first light hits the snow-capped peaks of the Gallatin Range. The Northern Corridor: Navigate the exclusive 50-mile stretch of maintained road. The high snowpack in the mountains pushes wildlife down into this corridor, creating a density of sightings unique to this season. Wolf & Predator Tracking: Winter is peak season for wolf activity. Your guide will utilize high-powered optics to locate and observe wild gray wolves and elusive red foxes as they navigate the Lamar Valley. Megafauna Resilience: Witness bison and elk navigating deep drifts, their breath turning to steam in the sub-zero air, a quintessential and powerful Yellowstone winter scene. Yellowstone National Park. We pick up at central meeting points and various hotels throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Your exact pickup time and tour duration will be determined by your hotel location and the season. Please note your pickup time and location for reference. Please be ready and waiting at the central meeting location or hotel lobby a few minutes before your pickup. Allow an additional 5–10 minutes for your guide to arrive in case of delays. Changes to trip timing may be made to accommodate daylight or optimal wildlife viewing conditions.
