The journey, in full
You will spend the 2 hours in the famous Garden District of New Orleans, where the homes are stately mansions. Near the starting location you will learn about the types of witchcraft done throughout the centuries in New Orleans and stand on the very land that was a safe haven for witchcraft families for over a hundred years. Throughout the tour you will see the homes that belonged to many practicing families, some of which still reside there today. Famed Novelist Anne Rice, who wrote about fictional witches, was also a friend to many real ones. You will see the home in which she wrote the stories and where she entertained the families. You will learn about and see the garden areas that practicing witches used to grow herbs and plants for healing and nurturing health. While there you will also learn about the television evangelist who was actually a friend to the witchcraft community of New Orleans. You will see the Buckner Mansion, made famous in American Horror Story. It was used in the show as a school for the witches but you will also see the real school where hundreds of practicing families sent their children. At the gates of Lafayette Cemetery you will see the family tombs and learn about our burial procedures as well as our family tomb days. There is more to see on this tour and we will cover a lot of information about the history of witchcraft in New Orleans and how it is practiced today.
