Morning Sailing & Snorkeling Tour
What your day looks like
Your morning big island adventure begins down the lava-sculted Kona coastline aboard Kona's premier new yacht a spacious 50ft sailing catamaran Hoku Nui. Snorkel in the pristine waters near the world-famous captain cook monument located in Kealakekua Bay. This marine sanctuary is one of the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii with clear blue water and reefs to explore. Our additional snorkel location is located near Red Hill (weather permitting) home to unique underwater lava formations such as archways and lava tubes.
The experience, in brief
- Snorkel the Marine Sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay
- Sail down the beautiful Kona Coast on our spacious 50 foot trimaran
The journey, in full
The Hokunui sets sail from Keauhou Bay at 8:30 am. Keep a watchful eye out for Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, Hawaiian Humpback Whales (seasonal Dec-April), and other marine life while you sail down the beautiful Kona Coast. As you enter Historic Kealakekua Bay, you will observe the World Famous Captain Cook Monument (sail time approx. 45 min.) Your snorkeling will begin in the pristine waters and the vibrant reef of the Marine Sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay. "Hawaii the Big Island Revealed" guide book says, "snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay near the monument is perhaps the best you will find anywhere in the state." Make sure to bring an underwater camera to capture the colorful schools of fish, pods of spinner dolphins that are also commonly spotted in the bay, and the landscaped ledges of ancient lava flows. Exiting the bay, we set sail for "Red Hill" (weather permitting). The Red Hill area is home to unique underwater lava formations such as archways and lava tubes, and more snorkeling with schools of vibrant sea life. As your snorkel adventure comes to an end, we will set sail back to Keauhou Bay arriving by 1 pm (approx.), with majestic memories of your Sea Paradise trip that will last a lifetime.

What travelers are saying
We had the most amazing time on our snorkel tour! The crew was outstanding, helped us every bit of the way, and even told some great stories about the history of the island. The tour even includes breakfast and lunch. They took us to 2 different spots to snorkel, made sure everyone was safe, and we had plenty of time to float around taking in all the beautiful sea life. Highly recommended!
We had such a great experience! The boat was amazing, all sorts of room to experience the sail from spot to spot however you wanted. Snorkeling at K-Bay was amazing, so many different things to see. Lunch was great, so many options for folks to get what they wanted. And the crew was AMAZING! Truly a full service experience. Snacks between snorkels, helping to keep our masks clear, bringing drinks / water while we were sailing, sharing 'after sun' skin treatment at the end of the day, laying out our shoes on the dock, taking pictures for families along the way. This company does all the big things (boat, food, sites) and little things (crew caring for the passengers) to make a memorable and great experience. Captain Ed, Kapua, Cher and Kamaile were amazing!
Everything was great. The crew was very attentive and fun.
This trip was amazing! The crew was great, they took great care of us and the food was good as well. The boat was fantastic! They took us to two great snorkeling spots. We highly recommend this trip.
Captain Morgan and his crew were energetic and engaging. The boat was phenomenal. The food and refreshments were also on point. We were able to see some great snorkeling spots and a large pod of spinner dolphins right up by the boat. If you are in Kona you should do this sail and snorkel!
