I highly recommend the sunset tour over the sunrise option—the skies are clearer, free of morning fog, and the temperatures are much more comfortable. Our driver, Dino, was incredibly informative, friendly, and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. We loved the hot tea, hot chocolate, and snacks provided along the way. A tip: Bring recharable hand warmers, dress in extra layers, beanies and heavy jackets to stay extra warm. consider anti-nausea precautions due to the winding roads—but it’s absolutely worth it! We captured amazing photos and videos, making this tour a truly memorable experience.

Of all the things we did on this vacation, this is a day we wish we could get back. Bus ride was totally disorganized. They picked us up on time only to bring us to a Safeway parking lot in the middle of the island to join another bus that was 45 minutes late. We then had to wait 30 minutes for that bus to go and use the grocery store, as we had done. We then continued on a new bus only to barely make the park closure. Access is limited to a certain number of cars and the tour has no reservation! We made it in the sun did set, as anticipated. It was pretty but it would have been equally pretty anywhere else. This was just was a very expensive and long bus ride that we had to repeat in reverse. We were all ready for the cold weather and a hike. Although the cold weather was there, there was no hike. Bus was poorly ventilated and the guide spoke in a monotone voice that was very hard to listen to. It sounded like he had some knowledge but he was referencing things that he could see without pointing them out to us. Do something else.
