Shore Excursion of Canakkale: Assos & Troy
What your day looks like
Docking at the port of Canakkale, you will be greeted by your private local guide who will welcome you holding a sign with the name of your party at the pier and lead you to explore Assos where the famous Temple of Athena was built in the 6th century BC and dedicated to the Goddess who protected the city. You’ll enjoy Ida Mountain with its magnificent landscapes, restful green forests, and several springs and rivers. Here’s wherein the myth explaining the start of the Trojan War, Paris accepted Aphrodite's bribe of Helen, the most beautiful mortal woman, and he made his fateful decision to give Aphrodite (over Athena and Hera) the golden apple as the most beautiful goddess. Afterward, you'll continue to ancient Troy, evoking Homer’s epic poem and the excavations of Heinrich Schliemann and others. At least nine cities have been identified; one on top of the other, with many more building phases, and a visit provokes much discussion about what went where! At the end of your tour, you will be transferred back to your cruise ship.

What travelers are saying
This tour was great in every way for us. Burak and the driver changed the timing at the last minute to accommodate us. We were on a tight schedule and they were on time at the correct location; we completed our day right on time. The tour was very informative; Burak was very knowledgeable including information about participating in some of the archeological digs at Troy. It was a fantastic day!
Great day!
