Start with a tour of the aging cellar to understand the production process, followed by a guided tasting of six distinct red wines (including Barolo, Nebbiolo, and Barbera) in the estate’s tasting room. Next, visit Alba, the historic “Gourmet Capital” of Piedmont. You will have free time to explore the pedestrian center, known for its truffle culture and high-end gastronomy—perfect for a relaxed lunch or browsing local specialties such as hazelnut products, fresh pasta, and truffle-based foods at your own pace. The day concludes with a scenic stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the vineyard landscape before the return trip. The journey, in full
1. Departure from Milan — Two Easy Meeting Points Meet your licensed guide at either Milano Centrale or Piazzale Lodi. Travel in a comfortable Mercedes van with air conditioning as you head directly toward the rolling hills of the Langhe wine region. 2. Grinzane Cavour Castle — UNESCO Viewpoint Visit Grinzane Cavour Castle, one of the most important historic landmarks in the Langhe. This 13th-century fortress overlooks the surrounding vineyards and offers a clear panoramic view of the Barolo landscape. Time here: approx. 1 hour Tuesday alternative: La Morra Belvedere or a similar panoramic terrace. 3. Alba — Lunch & Free Time Arrive in Alba, the gastronomic capital of Piedmont and the home of white truffles and Nutella. Enjoy free time for lunch, exploring the medieval streets, or visiting gourmet shops with Piedmontese specialties. Time here: approx. 2 hours 20 minutes Guide tip: You’ll receive recommendations for authentic local osterias focused on traditional Piedmont cuisine. 4. Family-Run Barolo Winery Visit Visit a family-run Barolo winery, a real working estate where wine is produced on site. Walk through the aging cellar, learn about Nebbiolo and the local terroir, and enjoy a seated tasting of premium wines in a relaxed setting. Time here: approximately 2 hours 5. Return to Milan After the tasting, relax in your comfortable Mercedes van as we head back to Milan. You return to the original meeting point — perfect timing for a late dinner in the city.
