The Experience

What your day looks like

Close to the Ancient Corinth, you will see the large citadel of Acrocorinth. It was successively used and fortified by many conquerors like the Romans and the Byzantines. In this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the castle. Through its imposing entrance gates, you will enter the castle and you will explore it. You will also experience the spectacular panoramic views which will amaze you. During this tour, we will visit the ancient town of Corinth, one of the richest towns in Ancient Greece, where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. We will visit the ruins of the ancient city in which you can see the remains of the Agora and one of the most outstanding monuments of pre –Roman period, the temple of Apollo. You will visit the temple of Hera Akraia and St. Johns "tiny" church. The visitors to Ancient Heraion also get the chance to have a wonderfully refreshing swim at the sanctuary's beach. For the more adventurous, you will have a chance to do some "cliff-jumping" from the surrounding rocks, as the sea in the sanctuary cove is both deep and clear. We will visit the Malagavi Lighthouse which is situated above ancient Heraion, on the western tip of cape Malagavi in the Gulf of Corinth. One of the oldest stone lighthouses in Greece built-in 1897 that is still in operation you can get to the lighthouse by walking up a small pathway. There are some spectacular views from the lighthouse of the Corinthian gulf, the rugged coastline and unusual rock formation in the sea nearby and of the Isthmus Canal. Taste delicious authentic delicacies from the local fish tavernas. Enjoy your refreshing swim and bathe under the Hellenic sun.
