Full Day - Private tour of Classical Athens

We had a wonderfully amazing full day private tour in Athens. Being seniors, we were concerned with Acropolis. Giorgio, our guide, was able to take us up a good portion of the way, making the final descent not too difficult. Besides the Acropolis, we visited the Olympic stadium, Acropolis museum and we watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. Giorgio, our guide, was very accomodating and provided a lot of history as we drove in and around Athens. He took us a "local" restaurant and guided us on what to order. We even went off the beaten path a bit and visited the Cultural center and a Shrine on the shore that built long ago by families while their family members were away at sea with no communication. This was a perfect day in Athens - it was HOT, but getting in and out of the air conditioned car was a life saver for us.

Such as wonderful day, we got to see so much and by a wonderful guide. No way we could have done it without the amazing guide!

We booked this due to the fact we were on a cruise and had limited time in Athens. We also paid for the additional guide through the Acropolis. Hercules was our driver and was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He accommodated us all day as we had to pivot for lunch due to our celiac and was very considerate of our time. He kept us from driving all day in circles. We went to Panathenaic Stadium, Philopappos Hill and the Acropolis along with a stop at a shop that had authentic greek souvenirs. It was an amazing day in Athens and although there is still so much to see we had a great time.

We were initially a little apprehensive about being in such a big city as Athens. However, our wonderful guide Gianni soon put us at ease! We were met at the terminal and escorted to his clean and comfortable car. We were taken through the very busy streets and we felt safe. Gianni explained a lot about Athens and the culture as we drove to the Acropolis where we had Fasttrack Tickets. We were dropped off and we went through the check point on time and with ease. The Acropolis was as breathtaking and amazing as we had hoped and we had plenty of time to explore and take photographs. Afterwards we found our guide at the exact place described and we were taken to the museum, where again, we entered promptly with our Fasttrack tickets. This was a very interesting place with many original statues to observe and learn about. Again, Gianni was available at the end of our time there. We were also taken to several buildings in Athens that had amazing architecture and we had a very special treat of seeing the Changing of the Guard at the Parliament building. There's so much to see and do in Athens, we also had a time for photos at the Olympic Games site. Throughout the whole day, Gianni was great company and he was a knowledgeable guide who speaks excellent English. At the end of our tour, we were returned to our ship in plenty of time and we were thankful for such a great experience.

Words fail me. Nancy took care of our group 12 for the private guided part of the Athens Acropolis. Amazing knowledge. So personable and so knowledgeable without overdoing it. Loved her and that part and that's why I rated it 5 stars. Rest of the tour was just ok. Driver was fine and pointed out the sites. But, this tour really needs to be guided rather than a driver who's English is fine, but in no way a guide nor was he advertised to be. I give him a ton of credit for all he did, but we should have hired an all-day guide, and this tour should not be run without one.

Fantastic Day exploring with Stelios!

Yannis was excellent ! He provided us with a most interesting tour of Athens. We were given a lot of time at all the must see sites and never felt rushed. He enlightened us with the history of each of the sites and about the culture of Athens and Greece.
