What travelers are saying
Both of these sites are interesting and beautiful, but I would not advise to take this tour. Our morning guide was very knowledgeable and helpful; our afternoon guide at Versailles was knowledgeable, but not very helpful and rather gruff. In our opinion, the day is too long! This tour would be much better if it were 2 - 3 hours shorter. We had plenty of extra time at both locations, and everyone was ready and waiting to go early. I don't understand the instructions to meet at 6pm to leave Versailles when the location actually closes at 5:30pm. This tour requires a lot of walking and standing. Even with the bus rides, it is a very long day.
Great tour, however the meeting location was very difficult to find. Even with the address provided, Uber driver took us to wrong location given on the voucher.
Both our tour guides were very knowledgeable and provided a pleasant experience. They made sure we made the tour bus at each location. Had enough time to see Monet's house and garden, but wish we budgeted more time to explore the town of Giverny . After the Versailles we had plenty of time to explore the garden.
Monet’s house and garden in Giverny was exquisite!!! I LOVED it there! However, I think there needed to be more direction from the guide. We were just set loose to explore the area until a set meeting time. Versailles was beautiful, but there was waaaay too much downtime or empty time. This day should have been 7 hours NOT 11!
Guide wonderful Wish we would have more time at Versailles
The pros of this tour - you can see Versailles and Monet's house and gardens in one day without stress of wondering where to go and park. Both places are so popular, that you will always in a crowd so I though we might as well take a bus trip. However, it is listed as no more than 20 people on the tour (I could have sworn it said 12 when I booked but I could be mistaken) and it was a full sized bus tour with 44 people that had to be shuttled around and waited for. We also were out early, arriving at Giverny way before the house and gardens opened but did not have an early entry time. There isn't much to do in town - a few cafes/restaurants, a shop, and the cemetery so we just waited until the gardens were very crowded to enter. It was ok, the guides were good, but I did not feel it was what I expected.
This tour was fantastic! The meet up was well organized and off we went. It was lovely to have time before visiting Monet house & gardens to visit the quaint little town. We visited in October so not vibrant in color but charming. Having our own time to explore the garden and house was fantastic, as we were able to go at our own pace. We also had time to visit the town for lunch. I imagine in the summer it would be busier. Versailles palace was incredible and our tour guide was fantastic! She covered all the highlights, we were able to get right up in the rooms. Really appreciated her knowledge and professionalism. The Gardens of Versailles was breathtaking! Glad to have a bus to transport us to each location. Definitely add this to your list!
Started out great with Sofie. She was fun and engaging. Very good English. We liked knowing all the info about Monet before arriving. Also preferred doing the house and garden at our own leisure.
