The Experience

What your day looks like

Thomas Jefferson once said, “A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of life,” and this tour brings those words to life. Join this 2.5-hour private tour through the center of Paris with one of our expert guides. Begin with the newly restored Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, with an unguided interior visit due to regulations, before exploring Île de la Cité, the historic heart and birthplace of the city. Cross the iconic Pont Neuf, Paris’s oldest bridge, and enjoy a walk along the River Seine as your guide points out the landmarks lining its banks. Continue through the Louvre courtyards and the elegant Jardin des Tuileries, admiring their manicured flower beds. The tour then reveals the dramatic history of Place de la Concorde, infamous for the guillotine executions of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution. Along the way, hear captivating stories of Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis XIV, and Henri IV, while discovering insider tips about Paris’s hidden gems. By the end of the tour, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the city’s history and the confidence to continue exploring on your own. The duplicate start times represent the number of private groups available on the day. Please select any time slot to book.

This was our first trip to Paris and we wanted to start where it all started. Tamari was our guide and met us near Notre Dame. We did a slow walk through the historic city center and ended up on the west side of the Louvre. She did an excellent job of not only sharing the history but of also painting a verbal picture of those times so that we could step in and actually feel it. She is an artist and a writer and viewing the city and its history through her lens made this a very special experience. Highly recommended.
