History of Paris & City Center Guided Walking Tour - Semi-Private
What your day looks like
Thomas Jefferson once said, “A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of life,” and this tour embraces that spirit. On this 2.5-hour small-group guided walking tour through the heart of Paris, you will begin with the newly restored Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, with an unguided interior visit due to regulations. You will then explore Île de la Cité, the historic birthplace of Paris. Crossing the iconic Pont Neuf, you will stroll along the River Seine while your guide highlights the landmarks lining its banks. The route continues through the Louvre courtyards and the elegant Jardin des Tuileries, before uncovering the dramatic revolutionary history of Place de la Concorde. Throughout the walk, stories of figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis XIV, and Henri IV bring the city’s past to life, while insider tips help you continue exploring Paris independently. The duplicate start times represent the number of private groups available on the day. Please select any time slot to book.

What travelers are saying
Thomas was a wonderful guide: he was extremely well informed and knowledgeable about France during WWII. His love for the subject was evident from the study and research he has conducted, and he was friendly and helpful as well. He peppered his history tour with interesting details about the city and has an expansive knowledge of not only the French Resistance but Parisienne history in general. I would strongly recommend this tour (with Thomas as your guide)!
