What your day looks like

Explore 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one day: Britain's most famous monument, Stonehenge, and the beautiful city of Bath; and enjoy the benefits of a private tour led by a local guide with private transportation. You will first visit Stonehenge. Your guide will take you around the Stonehenge Visitor Centre and the ancient stone circle and will bring the stones to life with interesting stories about its construction and history. Your guide has attended talks by some of the leading archaeologists at Stonehenge and will share with you their latest discoveries. After lunch at a historic pub you will return to Bath and have a private walking tour to give you a great introduction to the city. Your guide who was born and grew-up in Bath will show you Bath's famous landmarks and will tell you about the interesting stories behind these and the city. You will also be shown the location of the city's hot springs - the only hot springs in the country.

Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

- You will be collected at 8.30 am from your preferred pick-up point in Bath e.g. your hotel and driven by private transport to Stonehenge. - Your guide will take you around the Visitor Centre to explain the history of Stonehenge and how it was constructed. - Whilst exploring the ancient stone circle your guide will point out interesting features and share the latest discoveries with you. You will get close to the stones but it is not possible to go inside the stone circle or to touch the stones. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos. - After exploring Stonehenge you will return to Bath stopping off on route for lunch at a historic pub. - Your guide will take you to their favourite viewpoint to give you a great perspective of Bath. You will then have a walking tour of the city. You will be shown Bath’s famous landmarks and buildings and your guide will tell you about the interesting stories behind these and the city and some of its famous residents. - During the tour you will also be shown the location of the city’s hot springs – the country’s only hot springs. The tour will finish around 5 pm. - There is not time to go inside the museums in Bath e.g. the Roman Baths museum but your guide will happily point these out to you and give you some insider tips should you wish to visit these during your stay.
