We build a food tour for you! As you can imagine, Ecuador has 4 different regions with a wide variety of food. If you’re a foodie by nature, you’ll love this culinary experience. Starting in Quito with a cup of amazing coffee, quick meals in the Historical Center of Quito, and other interesting stops in the city. Then, moving to the deep country and the Andes, you’ll have the chance to experience some Ecuadorian traditional food, desserts, and habits. Not only that, you’ll have a typical Andean cooking class, and you’ll visit an Ecuadorian winery. In addition to all the food that you are going to taste, you will also be able to enjoy the beautiful and incredible landscapes of this beautiful country. Day 1

Welcome to Quito: Today, your Ecuador & Galapagos Gastronomic Tour starts. After you arrive at Quito Airport, you will have a private transfer to your hotel in Quito.

Leisure. Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy a welcome cocktail on the hotel rooftop.

Day 2

Quito

Local Flavor. Quito Food Private Tour: In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel to start your Quito Food Private Tour. The first visit will be to a coffee lab located in the Mariscal area where you’ll enjoy and learn about the multiple varieties of coffee available in Ecuador.

Food Tasting. You will continue the way to Quito Historical Center with a stop in a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious “empanada” (stuffed bread or pastry). After a short walk around Quito’s main square, you’ll taste the Andes’s variety of flavors with a traditional lunch. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to learn about Quito’s typical sweet traditions like “garrapiñada” (caramel-coated peanuts), “pristiños” (fried pastries served with raw sugar syrup), or “quesadillas” (muffin topped with frosting). This amazing experience ends with a visit to a traditional “fonda” (small and traditional restaurant) where you can try the local beer, the famous “chicha” (a fermented beverage made of corn), or local cocktails.

Day 3

Eco Tour at Cotopaxi National Park. Cotopaxi Day Tour: After breakfast, you will be picked up to go to Cotopaxi National Park. There are several activities that you can choose to do inside the National Park such as horseback riding, mountain biking or just hiking. You will enjoy a delicious and traditional picnic.

Sightseeing. In the afternoon, you will be dropped off at a local country house where you can see alpacas and enjoy the mountains.

Day 4

Quito

Local Flavor. Cotopaxi to Guamote: After breakfast, you will go to the Chimborazo province, On the way you have the opportunity to visit towns like Lasso and try the famous “Salcedo Ice Cream” and visit local markets in Latacunga or Saquisili where you can admire the local lifestyle, fruits, and vegetables colors and variety. You will arrive in Guamote, where you can enjoy a delicious “Pamba Mesa” (community food of ancestral origin) and the local activities at the lodge like a visit to the community.

Day 5

Quito

Cooking Class. Guamote to Ingapirca: This morning, you will enjoy Inti Sisa Community, learning about the local activities they practice (farm, school projects, handmade articles, etc) and enjoying an Andean Cooking Class.

Local Flavor. After lunch you will drive to the Ingapirca ruins. You will visit these in the afternoon, and at night you have a local hacienda dinner with potato soup and pork.

Day 6

Quito

Sightseeing at Ingapirca. Ingapirca and Cuenca Exploration In the morning you will visit the Ingapirca ruins and then you will be transferred to Cuenca.

Sightseeing at Turi Viewpoint. You will visit the historical center of Cuenca including the Turi viewpoint.

Quito

Local Flavor. You will visit the local market and have lunch at one of the famous restaurants in Cuenca. Cuenca has won South America’s Leading City Break Destination of 2018, and you will see in this tour why that is the case. It is an amazing city with a lot of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Local Flavor. At night you will go to a wonderful rooftop bar where you will enjoy some cocktails.

Day 7

Cuenca

Sightseeing at Cajas National Park. Cuenca - Hacienda Danesa After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart to the Ecuadorian Coast region. You will have a view of Cajas National Park and other beautiful panoramic views.

Local Flavor. You will arrive to Hacienda La Danesa, where you will enjoy a delicious local lunch and enjoy the afternoon with local activities like tubing, chocolate-making tours, or hacienda activities.

Eco Tour. Visit to Dos Hemisferios - Guayaquil Early in the morning, you will depart to the Progreso sector to visit the “Dos Hemisferios”, You will have a tour of the vineyard, where you can learn how made the impossible possible, sowing and harvesting grapes for a high-quality wine.

Wine Tasting. Following this, you will visit the plant, where you will be able to learn about the entire winemaking process. Once the tour is over, you will return to Gran Samán, where you will finally be able to taste wines like Bruma Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay, Enigma, Travesía Cabernet Sauvignon and Paradoja wines, along with a delicious three-course picnic lunch. Late transfer to Guayaquil.

Quito
