Cathedral Waterfalls and Hot Springs Adventure
What your day looks like
The 1-Day tour, Cathedral Waterfalls Adventure takes place inside a lush rainforest, at the only location in Guanacaste with a rain forest, blue rivers, natural hot springs and views of the smoking crater - on the north side of Rincon de la Vieja national park. We'll be hiking in the rain forest to arrive at an indescribably beautiful blue river waterfall that combines the powerful sounds of wind and water, producing a wondrous, mystical, natural display. In the dry season, swimming can be possible. Following the adventure, a delicious lunch will be served at Blue River Resort & Hot Springs. Afterward, will be time to partake in several more relaxing activities. Soak in three natural hot spring pools and swim in two natural pools with the bullet water slide; treat your skin to a natural mud bath and sauna; stroll the rainforest botanical gardens that include a hummingbird sanctuary, fish and turtle ponds and more; see the butterfly gardens. Keep a lookout for the many colorful birds, the monkeys, and our resident sloth! Your Cathedral Waterfalls Adventure includes transportation from your Guanacaste hotel, but if you are staying further away, prices may be subject to change. The tour includes a welcome cocktail and lunch. Getting here is part of the experience, as geography transforms from dry hot Savannah to a cool lush rain forest jungle and to where locals a simpler life is lived, often on horseback. On your return, we'll do our best to get you back in time for dinner, full of many special memories.

What travelers are saying
This was our favorite day in Costa Rica!! However, please be aware that in the pictures, it looks like you will cross the river by bridge. In fact, you will be climbing down slippery rocks and holding onto a rope while getting into the water to cross. You will get wet! We loved it!! But, if you are not able to climb or swim in rapids, this may not be the tour for you. The food was excellent and our guides were very friendly.
