What your day looks like
Caño Island is located 40 miles from where we launch our boats. This protected marine island is often referred to as “Mini Cocos Island” and is within a massive Pacific Ocean current, which makes it one of the most amazing marine islands in the world. We spend most of the trip on the open ocean, looking at our coastline and its mountains and on the way to the island see many dolphins, turtles and even whales! Once you are at the island, we will dive or snorkel two different locations where the visibility typically exceeds 80 feet. You will see many reef fish, big pelagics, rays and much more. We always operate with small groups, keeping it friendly, intimate and safe.

I thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling with our leader, Kimberly, around Cano Island. Most of our boat went scuba diving so there were only three of our group snorkeling. She was so persistent in pointing out things to see, and on a couple occasions actually took my hand and led me to see sharks, turtles and rays. I would highly recommend this trip for snorkeling lovers.

My family had a great time on this trip. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The trip was well-organized. We saw a wide variety of interesting, colorful fish and several sea turtles. The boat ride was fun and scenic. The food was good and they accommodated my dietary needs. The only thing that annoyed me was how often our guide referred to Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid! This would probably be appreciated by families with young children though.

This snorkeling expedition was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life. It was incredible! Wear a shirt with your swim suit. Our backs got sunburned even though we applied sunblock numerous times.

Costa Rice Dive and Surf Shop put on an excellent snorkel tour of Cano Island! The staff and facilities/equipment were all top notch/very professional. Our guide Kimberly, was fantastic in guiding us through the water and helped us spot turtles, sharks, sting rays, puffer fish, eel, parrot fish, trigger fish and so many more fish species. She was fantastic! Would definitely recommend this tour, i would have loved a little more time in the water but understand the limitations!
