The Experience

What your day looks like

A day full of adventure and nature awaits you in La Fortuna. Start your day at the "68" lava flow trail for the best hiking in the Arenal Volcano area. Walk on rocky terrain, feel the power and serenity of nature, and enjoy amazing views of Arenal Lake and the Monteverde mountains. Then, get ready to be dazzled by the imposing La Fortuna Waterfall, one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. Enjoy a delicious, typical lunch at a local restaurant, savoring the fresh and authentic flavors of rural life. To end the day, discover the wonderful secrets hidden in the hanging bridges park. The high density of biodiversity along these trails makes it a unique place for observing various species. The park houses the coming together of several different ecosystems, creating a transitional vegetation strip with high biodiversity. This perfect combination of adventure, culture, and nature will leave you with unforgettable memories of your trip to La Fortuna. Volcano Hike at Arenal 1968 Trail: Step back in time and explore the Arenal Volcano's transformative power. Hike the Arenal 1968 Trail, named after the volcano’s, most significant eruption. Witness the stark contrast between the solidified lava flows – remnants of the volcano's fiery past – and the areas now undergoing regeneration. Our expert guide will share fascinating details about the volcano's history and ongoing activity. This 3 km hike offers unparalleled vistas of the majestic Arenal. La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve: Next, we head to the La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve, where a majestic 210-foot waterfall awaits. Hike 1,640 feet downhill to reach the base of the falls and feel the invigorating spray. Take a refreshing dip in the natural pool formed by the La Fortuna River – a perfect reward for your trek. Your visit directly benefits the local community, as 100% of the entrance fee goes towards social projects like schools, nutritional centers, and infrastructure. Delicious Farm-to-Table Lunch: Indulge in a delightful lunch at Vida Campesina Farm. Savor authentic Costa Rican cuisine prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, most grown right on the farm! Top it all off with a special treat – homemade produce and a cup of freshly brewed coffee, prepared in the traditional Costa Rican style. Mistico Hanging Bridges: Our journey continues at Mistico Park, a 618-acre haven of vibrant rainforest. Immerse yourself in the lush canopy as you traverse 15 hanging bridges, ranging from 16 to 330 feet in length. Our knowledgeable naturalist guide will unveil the secrets of this colorful ecosystem, pointing out fascinating flora and fauna along the way. The breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano peeking through the trees will leave you speechless. After a thrilling day of exploration, you will be drive back to the hotel, brimming with memories of your Arenal adventure!
