Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel within the 4th Ring Road of Beijing in the morning, kicking off your full-day adventure. You’ll then head to Shilinxia Scenic Area by private car, a roughly 2-hour ride where you can enjoy the picturesque views of countryside and farmland along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll have 2–3 hours to explore the scenic area at a leisurely pace, with no rushing from spot to spot. Take the cable car up the mountain for sweeping panoramic views, then hike for 30 minutes to 1 hour to reach the iconic glass sightseeing platform. Nicknamed the “Flying Disk/UFO”, this platform opened to the public on April 30, 2016. Extending 32.8 meters out from the cliff edge, it is 11 meters longer than the Grand Canyon Skywalk in the US, and holds the title of the world’s largest sightseeing platform. Built with titanium alloys— a material widely used in aerospace— it guarantees maximum safety for all visitors. After this thrilling experience, you’ll stop at a local restaurant to savor a delicious Chinese lunch. On the return trip to Beijing, you’ll make a detour to the 798 Art District, nestled in the Dashanzi area northeast of downtown Beijing. Once a cluster of 1950s state-owned electronics factories (including the eponymous Factory 798), this area has been transformed by artists drawn to its Bauhaus-style architecture and peaceful location. Factories have been repurposed into galleries, art centers, studios, design firms, restaurants and bars. Accompanied by your friendly guide, you’ll wander the expansive zone and admire the unique works and spaces on display. Your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel, wrapping up this wonderful day trip.
