The journey, in full
Your private guide and driver will arrive at your hotel within the 4th Ring Road of Beijing in the morning, waiting to start your one-day tour. They will then drive you to Shilinxia Scenic Area, a journey that takes approximately 2 hours. Along the way, you can enjoy the picturesque views of the countryside and farmlands, adding a peaceful touch to the start of your trip. Upon reaching Shilinxia Scenic Area, you will have 3 to 4 hours to explore at your leisure, with no rush to move from one spot to another. Take the cable car up the mountain to overlook the stunning scenery below, followed by a 30-minute to 1-hour hike to reach the famous glass sightseeing platform. Known as the “Flying Disk/UFO” platform, this attraction opened to the public on April 30, 2016. It extends 32.8 meters out from the cliff, which is 11 meters longer than the Grand Canyon Skywalk in the Grand Canyon National Park, USA. Claimed to be the world’s largest sightseeing platform, it is built with titanium alloys— a material widely used in the aerospace industry, yet this marks its first application in a civilian structure in China. The use of titanium alloys is specifically to guarantee the safety of all visitors on the platform. After your exciting adventure on the glass platform, you will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious authentic Chinese lunch. Your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel to complete this one-day tour.
