Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at the time you advised as your preferred pickup time when booking. Then take local transportation (bus or subway ) or a private car depending on your choice to Lama Temple. Lama Temple was previously the residence of Count Yin Zhen, who became Emperor Yongzheng in 1723. In 1744 after Yongzheng’s death in 1735, the buildings became a lamasery staffed by monks from Tibet and Mongolia. Here you’ll learn that the Lama Temple was a princely residence and a government building before it was used as a Buddhist temple. Learn how the yellow sect Tibetan Buddhism became the most popular one in China, and hear what the locals think about Buddhism from your tour guide. Admire three treasures in this temple: the largest sandalwood Buddha in the world, the bronze Buddhas of past, present, and future, and the 500-Arhat-Hill. Move on to Tian’anmen Square, and use the travel agency’s fast pass to enter the square. Here you can see its surroundings, and the most emblematic buildings, and learn all about them. Tian’anmen Square is the biggest city center square in the world. You will see The Great Hall of People, the National Museum, Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum, the Monument of the People’s Hero, the Tian’anmen Gate, and more. Pass through the south gate to the magnificent Forbidden City, a 250-acre complex of courtyards, palaces, pavilions, and gardens, which served as the imperial palace for emperors and their households for more than 500 years. The Forbidden City was the imperial palacofom the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located in the middle of Beijing and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Cthe hinese government. Move on to the living quarters, to visit the Hall of Heavenly Purity, the Hall of Union, and the Hall of Earthly Tranquility. Learn many interesting stories about the emperor and his family who lived inside the palace. Your tour will finish at the North Gate of the Forbidden City, you can choose to explore more on your own, or your tour guide can help you to get a taxi to your next destination. ( At your own cost). If you choose the option of private transfer, you will be transferred back to your hotel downtown.
