In the early morning, our driver in Shanghai will meet you in your downtown hotel and transfer you to the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport for a flight to Beijing. After 2 hour's flight, you will land at Beijing Capital Airport. Your guide in Beijing will greet you at the terminal exit by holding a board with your name. Then get in the private car and start your Beijing tour! Firstly we will take a walk on Tiananmen Square, the heart and symbol of Beijing and the largest city square in the world. The spacious square has been used for many public celebrations, ceremonies, and demonstrations for over a hundred years. Then you will pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the largest and most completely preserved palace complexes built with wood. It functioned as the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912). There were 24 emperors of two dynasties who once lived in the Forbidden City. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall, the most scenic part of the Chinese Great Wall. It was built in the early Ming Dynasty in 1368. 90 percent of the Mutianyu Great Wall is covered by vegetation. So in each season, this part of the Great Wall treats visitors with its unique scenery. If hiking is too much for you, the cable car is available and optional. After the tour, you will be escorted to Beijing airport and take the late evening flight back to Shanghai.
