What your day looks like
Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel within Beijing’s 4th Ring Road in the morning for a full-day tour. The 2.5-hour drive to Cuandixia Village offers stunning mountain and rural views. This well-preserved Ming-Qing village, nestled in Jingxi’s mountains, boasts 70+ traditional courtyard houses and retains its original charm, once a key stop on ancient trade routes. Lunch is at your own expense, with local family-run restaurants nearby. After lunch, choose one cultural spot: Option 1 – Liulichang Street, a 300-year-old cultural thoroughfare with traditional calligraphy, paintings and art shops; Option 2 – Panjiayuan Market, China’s largest antique market for souvenirs and folk art. The tour ends around 5 PM, with a return transfer to your hotel.

Your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel within the 4th Ring Road of Beijing in the morning, kicking off your full-day tour. You’ll head to Cuandixia Village by private car, a journey of approximately 2.5 hours. Nestled in the Jingxi mountain area, roughly 55 miles northwest of downtown Beijing, the village sits on an ancient post road. Along the way, let the stunning mountain and rural scenery unfold before your eyes, a perfect prelude to the tranquil village escape. Cuandixia Village is home to around 70 courtyard houses, cascading gently up the mountain slopes. These traditional dwellings were built over 400 years ago by a family who migrated from Shanxi Province. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the mountain road passing through here served as a vital trade and transit route connecting Hebei and Shanxi provinces. Villagers once opened their homes to travelers, catering to the passing trade. As highways and railways altered transportation routes over time, the village gradually faded from the spotlight, preserving its original charm. Lunch will be served at a local family-run restaurant, where you can savor authentic countryside-style dishes, tasting the simple and delicious flavors of rural life. The tour will conclude around 5 PM. Your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel, wrapping up this wonderful day trip.
