The journey, in full
Your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel within Beijing’s 4th Ring Road in the morning to start your one-day private tour. First, you’ll head to Longqing Gorge, a scenic spot known as the "mini Li River (Guilin)" for its more stunning mountain views and "mini Three Gorges (Yangtze River)" for its more precipitous valleys. Lined with lush green peaks on both sides, the gorge features crystal-clear mirror-like waters, with breathtaking cliffs, jagged rocks, and various unique stone formations like stone cones, swords and pillars to admire. A complimentary boat cruise on the lake is included for you to experience the stunning scenery up close. You’ll spend around 2 hours exploring Longqing Gorge at your leisure. Afterward, you’ll go to a local restaurant and enjoy an authentic Chinese lunch, which takes about 40 minutes. Next, you’ll visit Dingling of the Ming Tombs, the only underground palace open to the public among all Ming imperial mausoleums. It is the final resting place of Emperor Zhu Yijun, the longest-reigning emperor of the 16 Ming emperors. The mausoleum was constructed when he was 22, taking 6 years to complete in 1590, and he was buried here with his two empresses after his death. Your guide will share detailed insights into Ming Dynasty history, the emperor’s life and the intricate imperial burial culture. After the visit, your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel in Beijing, concluding the one-day tour.
