Day 1
Siem Reap
Archaeological Exploration at Angkor Wat. Day 1: Explore Angkor Thom, Jungle Temples & Sunset at Angkor Wat After breakfast at the hotel, your professional tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby to begin an unforgettable journey through the Angkor Temples Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Wonders of the World. Your exploration begins at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the grand entrance to the last capital of the Khmer Empire, which in the 12th century was the largest city in the world with a population of more than one million people. Continue to Bayon Temple, renowned for its 216 giant smiling stone faces that create one of the most iconic images of Angkor. Next, visit Baphuon Temple, a monumental pyramid representing Mount Meru, followed by Phimeanakas within the ancient Royal Palace, an important structure of the former Khmer kings. Proceed to the Terrace of the Elephants, once used for royal audiences and ceremonies, and the nearby Terrace of the Leper King, famous for its mysterious statue and beautifully carved walls depicting gods, guardians, and mythological beings. Continue your journey to Ta Nei, a hidden jungle temple offering a peaceful, untouched atmosphere far from the busy crowds. Day 2: Explore Banteay Srei, Angkor Grand Circle Temples & Local Village Tour After breakfast at the hotel, your professional tour guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to explore some of the most remarkable temples within the Angkor Archaeological Park, a vast heritage site covering 401 square kilometers and home to more than 250 ancient temples. Your morning begins with the Angkor Grand Circle Temples, starting at Preah Khan Temple, a sprawling Buddhist monastery built by King Jayavarman VII, known for its intricate carvings, atmospheric corridors, and maze-like layout. Continue to Neak Pean Temple, a unique water sanctuary located on an artificial island, historically used for ancient healing and purification rituals. Proceed to East Mebon Temple, a majestic mountain temple originally situated on an artificial island in the now-dry East Baray reservoir, distinguished by its impressive elephant statues carved from stone. Your next visit is Banteay Samre Temple, an elegantly restored structure featuring beautifully preserved carvings and harmonious classical Khmer architecture.
