What your day looks like
Lamanai is located about 1hr to 1.5hrs by boat, which is one of the most popular ways to visit Lamanai because you are able to observe the various wild life creatures that exist in Belize along the river's bed. The vast majority of the site remained unexcavated until the mid-1970s. Archaeological work has concentrated on the investigation and restoration of the larger structures, most notably the Mask Temple, Jaguar Temple, and High Temple. The summit of this latter structure affords a view across the surrounding jungle to a nearby lagoon, part of New River.

Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
The day starts with pick up from your hotel (depending on distance of hotel). We have breakfast and then fly to Carmelita village (Orange Walk), the flight is approx. 18-20 minutes. In Orange Walk we take a 10 minute ride in a Air Conditioned Van to the River where we will be boarding the boat to Lamanai and starting the river tour. If you would prefer to skip the boat and take a flight to Lamanai as well, you can book this at an additional cost. After climbing the temples, learning about the area, and completing this exciting tour of Lamanai you can continue to the gift shop where you can purchase some souvenirs to take back home. Once everyone is ready to leave we take a boat ride back to take the plane to San Pedro around 3:30 pm.

Meeting & Pickup
We offer complimentary hotel pick but only as far as 4 miles north and 4 miles south. We offer pick-up services further than 4 miles for an extra fee or meet us at the Amigos Del Mar dock, on the San Pedro waterfront. When it comes to by boat the boat leaves at 6 am. By air, the tour leaves at 7 am.
