What your day looks like
Our Lamanai tour starts with a 20-minute flight to Tower Hill (Orange Walk), and a 10-minute ride through sugar cane fields that brings you to the banks of the New River. Climb aboard and enjoy a boat ride through mangroves and swamp savannah. See monkeys, birds, bats, flora, turtles, and crocodiles as you make your way to the New River Lagoon and Lamanai Maya site. There, walk through the dense jungle and learn about Belizean bush medicine. Explore impressive Maya monuments, and climb the huge El Castillo Temple for an expansive view of the lagoon. Be sure to listen for Howler Monkeys, and look out for Toucans as you stroll through the rainforest. Finally, visit the museum, enjoy a tasty Belizean lunch (included) and visit the gift shop before you get back on board the boat to begin your return journey to San Pedro.

We loved the tour! Dionicio and his son were excellent guides. One thing to note - the tour description said a light breakfast would be served en route. There was no breakfast, but instead a lunch served after the tour of Lamanai. Lunch was delicious, but we were glad we ate before the tour!

Amazing small group experience. There were only seven people on our tour. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. The tour started early, and we were the first group at Lamanai, which made it special. Highly recommend.
