What your day looks like
Your day begins with a pick-up where our driver will check you in and issue you with our Kuranda Boarding Pass. This includes a detailed itinerary with timings, as well as your Kuranda Scenic Rail and Skyrail tickets, allowing you to proceed straight to the boarding area. At your allocated time, board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for an unforgettable journey over and through the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest. There are two stops along the way to disembark and explore. Once you arrive in Kuranda, limited free time is allowed to explore this unique village. There are plenty of Café and Restaurants to purchase food, or why not use the discounted entry on your Kuranda Boarding Pass to some of the popular attractions? The Heritage Markets also operate daily offering a wide range of stalls from locally-produced souvenirs, arts & crafts, jewelry, and gemstones to clothing. At your allocated boarding time, make your way to Kuranda Station to board the historic Kuranda Scenic Rail for one of the most unique rail journeys in Australia. Sit back and relax as this famous railway winds its way from Kuranda to Freshwater Station, passing spectacular waterfalls and into the beautiful Barron Gorge. Once you arrive at Freshwater Station, our bus will transfer you back. The written itinerary is available in six languages.

It took 90 minutes to get to Kuranda via the Skyrail -- so, after getting dropped off by the bus at 11, we didn't arrive to Kuranda until 12:30. Our tickets for the return train ride said that the train departed at 2 pm. By the time we walked over into the town/Kuranda community, it was 1 pm. I wanted to get a photo with a koala, which took from 1-1:30. Then, we had to run back to the train station. When we got to the train station, we were informed that there had not been any 2 pm trains running in the preceding 3 months; our train didn't depart until 3 pm. Given that we didn't have time to walk the entire way over and back again, we went to the nearest building - the Kuranda Hotel, hoping to at least get lunch, but we were told the "kitchen was closed". As a result, we didn't get to see anything at the Koala area except the Koala. We didn't get to see anything at the bird house. We didn't get to see anything at the butterfly building. We didn't get to look at the markets. We didn't even get lunch. These tours should drop people off much earlier, give tourists accurate information about the return train time, and should return tourists to town much later. Kuranda was a really neat place; unfortunately, the way things worked out, we didn't get to see any of it.

This gondola ride and train ride was so cool. We could see the rain forest and ocean of Carins. It was fun, exciting, and wonderful trip. I would recommend it to anyone.
