A guided 4-day Pack Free Walk: On the East Coast of Tasmania lies the spectacular Freycinet National Park with its breathtaking mountains, white sand beaches, turquoise ocean and secluded rocky coves. The bare, granite peaks of the Hazard mountains dominate the landscape, towering out of the clear waters of Coles Bay and Great Oyster Bay. Freycinet National Park is also home to the magnificent Wineglass Bay, voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Enjoy the beauty of this unique location on our 4-day walking experience, carefully designed to take in all the highlights of this world-renowned destination.

Your day, step by step
Port Arthur
Transportation. Welcome to Tasmania! Today is an arrival day. Book your own flight to arrive any time into Launceston and make your own way to the Hotel Grand Chancellor in the heart of the city. Your accommodation has been booked in a deluxe twin or deluxe king room. Accommodation is based on twin share (note: solo travelers will need to pay a single supplement).

Eco Tour at Freycinet National Park. Freycinet National Park: Enjoy breakfast in the hotel restaurant, before meeting your guides in foyer of the Hotel Grand Chancellor at 7.30am. From here you will be driven to beautiful Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park, the start of our walk. Established in 1916, Freycinet National Park is one of the state’s oldest and best-known parks. Its grand granite peaks and beautiful white beaches are set against the azure blue ocean to create a truly beautiful landscape.

Leisure at Wineglass Bay. Wineglass Bay: Today we enjoy a great walk to the famous sweeping curve of sand known as Wineglass Bay, voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. We then return along a scenic trail beneath the magnificent Hazard mountains, skirting the coastline and passing a number of picturesque coves, perfect for swimming on hot days. A short five-minute drive at the end of walk brings you back to Freycinet Lodge, our accommodation for the next 2 nights.

Boating at Freycinet National Park. Boating ride: After a hearty breakfast, our private boat picks us up from the wharf in front of the lodge and takes us to the remote southern region of the National Park.

Hiking at Freycinet National Park. Hiking to Freycinet Saddle and over Mount Graham, and shoter option: We disembark off the boat onto Cooks Beach where our walk begins. Our long walk climbs up to East Freycinet Saddle and over Mount Graham. This is a challenging ascent, but the variety of scenery and abundant wildlife make this the most enjoyable section of the track. From the summit, we will enjoy superb, panoramic views over the southern end of Freycinet National Park and Schouten Island. We then head along Wineglass Bay and follow the trail to the end of the walk. For those doing the shorter option, you will be dropped at Cooks Beach with the rest of the group then head out to explore Bryans Beach before following the coastline and crossing over to Wineglass Bay. At the end of the trail, we make our way back to Freycinet Lodge, with time to shower and freshen up before the group gets together for dinner in the Bay Restaurant.

Hiking at Friendly Beaches. Friendly Beaches: After this, we set out on a hike along Friendly Beaches, starting at the southern end and walking north towards Point Isaac. As you walk, keep an eye out for dolphins and other sea life.

Eco Tour at Moulting Lagoon Important Bird Area. Moulting Lagoon: We then drive to picturesque Moulting Lagoon, an internationally-recognised wetland ecosystem with an impressive colony of black swans and teeming with butterflies.

Late breakfast. A short stop at a local winery for a celebratory wine tasting, and late lunch.
