Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Our full-day Peninsula Valdes Whale Watching tour takes you to this stunning World Heritage Site filled with unique species of plants and animals. We’ll kick the tour off by picking you up directly from your hotel in Puerto Madryn between 7:15 and 8:00 am and heading out along the peninsula. Accompanied by our professional, bilingual guides, we’ll make our first stop at the Istmo Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center. Here, you’ll learn about the flora, fauna, and geology of the area as well as being able to enjoy panoramic views of the Golfo Nuevo, San Jose, and Isla de los Pájaros. Heading on, we’ll make our next stop in the town of Puerto Piramides where you’ll be able to do some whale watching. This begins as we make our way along the coast, with our professional guides talking to us about the unique ecosystems on the coast and the sea. We’ll sail on towards the whales’ most popular spots, keeping an eye out for any sign of them. Once we see them, we’ll turn the engine off and listen to the peaceful quiet of the waves. After a good, while watching the lovely creatures, we’ll head along the coast and make stops at some of the following, depending on the weather and the tide: Caleta Valdés, Punta Norte and Punta Cantor. From here we should be able to see elephant seals, sea lions, and even penguins. At Punta Norte, you can even see orcas, especially in March and April, and at Caleta Valdés in September. We’ll then bring our exciting tour to a close by dropping you back at your hotel for the evening, around 6:30/7:00 pm. This tour is conducted daily and does not include tickets or lunch.
