Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
From the hotel, we will go by comfortable transportation at the beginning of the trail. From there we will take the path that enters the forest within the Tierra Mayor Valley. We will cross several peat bogs and rocky terrain. We will continue our walk along the Emerald River until we reach the indescribable Emerald Lagoon, a small lake of glacial origin, which owes its name due to its color, produced by sediments that come from the Ojo del Albino Glacier. This color can only be seen in summer while in winter it will be frozen and covered with snow. While we enjoy the view of the Lagoon we will load energies eating box lunch. We will be able to undertake the return, where the road will be familiar to us and we will have the last chance to appreciate the beauties that surround us.

Great hike in a beautiful location! Our guide Franco was amazing and checked in with everyone the whole way to make sure no one was being left behind/ we were going at a good pace for everyone and stopped for breaks to explain the landscape and history. Lunch was delicious with a large chicken sandwich and giant chocolate brownie/cake for dessert right on the edge of the lake. Tour operator kept in touch via WhatsApp leading up to the tour with extra info and pickup times and always available to answer questions quickly. Highly recommend this hike, it's easy and enjoyable!
