The Experience

What your day looks like

Paddle the Wailua River, a beautiful jungle stream, deep into the heart of the island. After our downwind paddle upstream, we’ll tie our kayaks to a tree and take a somewhat rugged one-mile hike up the valley to a dramatic 100’ waterfall with a pool at the bottom. Swimming is encouraged! We’ll have a delicious picnic lunch and then hike back down to the kayaks for some more fun paddling! The paddle downstream is against headwinds, which makes this tour more strenuous than our Hidden Valley Tour. If you like a workout, this tour is for you! Swimming holes, and native and exotic botanical wonders; the Wailua is a fantasyland of Hawaiian deep jungle scenery.

That waterfall. Great way to explore! Worth every penny. Our tour guides were exceptional! Loved learning about the island. Recommend.

This was our favorite outing of our entire Hawaiian trip. Lovely paddling down the beautiful Wailua River with some comments re: the area from our guide. Muddy but fabulous hiking through the forest to reach the waterfall (complete with a rooster perched proudly on a log across the water). The packed meals were nice, although a more substantial meal than a green salad would have been appreciated as the vegetarian option. All-in-all, a very satisfying way to spend a beautiful day enjoying the wonderful natural beauty of Kauai!
