Ultimate Arizona Including Grand Canyon Self-Guided Tours Bundle
What your day looks like
Start by downloading the Action Tour Guide app, which will function as your personal tour guide, audio tour, and map all in one. Once downloaded, your Grand Canyon tour begins near the park’s south welcome sign. You’ll also have the option to enter from the east entrance. From the main entrance, you’ll hear about the early history of the park before arriving at Mather Point—your first good look at the canyon! Next, you’ll proceed to Yavapai Point and the Yavapai Geology Museum, full of facts about the canyon’s geology. Then, head to Grand Canyon Village for some snacks, souvenirs, and a walk along the popular South Rim Trail. As you walk, you’ll hear about the peculiar construction of the Hopi House and the heated feud between two galleries along the rim. Next, you’ll board the free Grand Canyon Shuttle. On Hermit Road, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at some incredible vistas including Powell Point, Hopi Point, and The Abyss. You’ll arrive at Hermit’s Rest, which features a splendid hiking trail for the avid adventurer. More great views await you back east at Pipe Creek Vista and Grandview Point. Finally, you’ll arrive at the impressive Desert View Watchtower, offering more spectacular views and snacks to go with them. The tour concludes here. Your tour of Sedona begins at the Visitor Center. From here, you’ll drive the Red Rock Scenic Byway and get acquainted with the spiritual history of this town. At the Tlaquepaque Arts Shopping Village you’ll find all sorts of boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. Once you’ve had a chance to explore, you’ll continue south to a couple phenomenal hiking trails. After that is the towering Chapel of the Holy Cross, followed by the trail for Cathedral Rock, Sedona’s most famous formation. Then, you’ll reach the Courthouse Vista, where you’ll find spectacular views of a red rock formation big enough to rival Cathedral Rock and a trail which leads to one of the town’s vortexes—sites supposedly charged with spiritual energy. Finally, you’ll arrive in the Village of Oak Creek, full of more shops and restaurants. Your tour will conclude here. Your Horseshoe Bend tour begins by the trailhead for the bend. From there, you’ll just follow the path! Along the way, you’ll hear about the early days of the Colorado River, when it was just a meandering river on a floodplain. As you walk, you’ll learn how that floodplain became a soaring plateau, and how that event created Horseshoe Bend. You’ll also get details about how this land passed from the Navajo to the USA. Finally, you’ll arrive at Horseshoe Bend, where viewing platforms offer jaw-dropping views of the landmark. Don’t forget to take plenty of pictures! Also included with your tour is a driving tour of Page, the town where Horseshoe Bend is located. This tour is full of additional sightseeing spots, so don’t miss it!
