Make your way to Battery Park, where you’ll meet your guide at Castle Clinton, a historic fort that was once considered as a possible site for the Statue of Liberty. Board a ferry to Liberty Island with an early Reserve Line Access ticket to avoid the crowds. During the ride to Liberty Island, you’ll learn about the history of the famous statue and how perceptions of Lady Liberty have changed over the decades and through generations. Once on the island, your guide will show you the grounds and tell you more about what you will see inside the museum. Following the guided tour, you’ll have time to visit the museum, which contains “flames” from Lady Liberty’s torch, as well as some of the statue’s original structure. If time permits, you can also make a stop on your own at Ellis Island before returning to Battery Park. The tour is approximately 2.5 hours. You can stay as long as you wish after the tour ends at Liberty Island and return to NYC when ready. Total time should be approximately 3-4 hours, including your return to Battery Park.
