Snow, Ice & Gingerbread - Holiday Celebrations Orlando Style
What your day looks like
We venture to some of the Disney hotels where Gingerbread work is a true art form! Imagine a gingerbread house as large as life. We will see this and more. The next stop is ICE - amazing ice sculptures created inside 'The Florida Fridge' Following ICE we will transport you to the Disney-built City of Celebration. In this somewhat surreal town, you will be able to take in the Holiday atmosphere that includes ‘Florida snowfall on the Streets’. Meander the unique stores, see Father Christmas’ cabin and watch the ‘snow’ fall – all Orlando's great holiday experiences in 1 tour. View Gingerbread houses as large as life, experience Ice Carvings wilder than your imagination, and watch the Florida Snow Fall. On this tour guests will be transported to 3 of Florida’s holiday-themed areas. First off, we head to the Walt Disney World Resort where we visit some of the luxury resorts to see what the Disney baking team has been creating fantastic gingerbread sciences - from life-sized gingerbread houses to moving carousels. The smell is so delicious you almost want to start eating the displays. Next, we visit the Gaylord Palms Resort, which brings the icy North Pole to Central Florida. A walk-through attraction hand-carved from nearly two million pounds of ice, ICE! will definitely make anyone forget they’re in the Sunshine State. The attraction allows visitors to experience a winter wonderland with incredible icy landscapes, slippery ice slides, and three-dimensional sculptures hand-carved by a team of artisans from China. Combined with over 1,500 fluorescent and fiber optic lights frozen within the ice in over 18,000 square feet of space, the sculptures create a magical holiday experience like no other. Visitors to ICE! should beware; this is no artificial winter simulation. It really is cold in there! Kept at a brisk 9 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve the ice, the unique structure housing ICE! is also known as the “Florida Fridge,” one of the first of its kind in North America. Free time to explore ICE, admission tickets, and oversized parkas are included in our package. However, gloves and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended! This year's theme will transport you to the world of the Polar Express. The last stop is the town of Celebration. This quaint town was created in the plans by Disney as a community of tomorrow where everyone would want to live. At Christmastime, it is transformed with lights and a stunning Christmas tree. On Market Street, the magic of Disney makes the ‘Snow’ fall – adults and children alike love the splendor of the holiday magic. At the end of the evening, you will be in the holiday spirit having seen some of the most magical holiday creations that Florida has to offer.
