The Experience

What your day looks like

Sitka, Alaska offers a great place to whale watch and view other marine wildlife. The city lies in a unique location, nestled between the Tongass temperate rain forest and the Alexander Archipelago. Our waters are home to an abundance of marine life such as sea lions, otters, seals and an array of birds; these waters are also stopped for whales and orcas, which feed on a variety of sea life. Join us as we explore Alaska’s southeast waters aboard our 24-foot seaworthy vessel with both an inside cabin and a forward and aft viewing deck. This allows for a truly intimate experience as we explore coves, islands and search for an array of marine life. Enjoy a more personalized experience with your own boat, a customizable itinerary, and a USCG Licensed captain providing commentary tailored to you on this private trip. Cruise the waters off the coast of Baranof Island looking for whales, seals, otters, and other species in their natural habitat. This 30’ boat has ample deck space and is powered by twin 250 Honda engines making it a superb vessel for southeast Alaska.

Meeting & Pickup

Your tour departs from Harrigan Centennial Hall, 330 Harbor Drive in downtown Sitka. There are three ways to get to us if arriving by cruise ship If your ship docks at the terminal north of town (Halibut Point Marine Dock), you will need to disembark your ship and walk to the left side of the terminal building; here you’ll hop on one of the free shuttle buses; these buses will take you directly to our location at Harrigan Centennial Hall (330 Harbor Drive). Here you’ll see a row of tour vendors. Baranof Tours has the blue A-frame sign. If your cruise ship anchors out, you will be tendered to either one of our two ports: 1. Cresent Harbor Port— this is the back side of Harrigan Centennial Hall. You’ll need to come around to the front side of the building. Here you’ll see a row of tour vendors. Baranof Tours has the blue A-frame sign. 2. O’Connell Bridge port You’ll need to walk north bound on Harbor Road, one block, then turn left onto Harbor Drive, walk one block and you’ll see Harrigan Centennial Center (330 Harbor Drive) on the righthand side. Here you’ll see a row of tour vendors. Baranof Tours has a blue A-frame sign.
