Winter brings thousands of humpbacks to the Wai‘anae Coast, and we run a research-style expedition that positions you right where they’re known to surface, breach, and sing. Unlike the big-boat tours outside the Ko Olina marina’s industrial zone, we operate from the quieter, wilder side of the island. A fast, shaded 34-ft power catamaran (just 10 guests) lets us move efficiently, stay respectful of the whales, and keep the experience intimate and unhurried. You’re guided by marine biologists, not entertainers — people who track the whales daily, contribute to ongoing ID and acoustic studies, and interpret what you’re seeing in real time. Along with humpbacks, you may encounter resident dolphins or smaller toothed whales that frequent this coastline year-round.
