The Experience

What your day looks like

It’s the rare pairing of two awe-inspiring moments — sunset and whales — best experienced far from the crowds, with marine biologists who know this coastline and its wildlife intimately. This isn’t a party cruise; it’s an expedition aboard our fast, shaded 34-ft power catamaran (capped at just ten guests — ask about private or larger group options).

Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Kaʻena Point = Whale Central Adventure off the path to Oahu's most whale-rich area. This remote, rugged coastline is a biological hotspot where humpback whales gather during breeding season. Take a front-row seat to awe-inspiring behaviors like breaches, tail slaps, and vocalizations. You’re not just watching whales — you’re witnessing humpback whales framed by a Hawaiian sunset on one of the most wildlife-rich coastlines in the islands. Winter brings thousands of humpbacks to the Wai‘anae Coast, and we run a research-style expedition that positions you right where they’re known to surface, breach, and sing. Unlike the big-boat tours outside the Ko Olina marina’s industrial zone, we operate from the quieter, wilder side of the island. A fast, shaded 34-ft power catamaran (just 10 guests) lets us move efficiently, stay respectful of the whales, and keep the experience intimate and unhurried. You’re guided by marine biologists, not entertainers — people who track the whales daily, contribute to ongoing ID and acoustic studies, and interpret what you’re seeing in real time. Along with humpbacks, you may encounter resident dolphins or smaller toothed whales that frequent this coastline year-round. It’s the rare pairing of two awe-inspiring natural events — migrating humpbacks and a blazing west-side sunset — experienced the way it should be: small-group, ethical, and far from the crowds.
