Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Once again, Bear Creek Outfitters leads the way! We have access to exclusive permits at several locations across Admiralty and Chichigof Islands, where you will not encounter any other commercial operators! Your exploration begins after arrival at the Bear Creek Outfitters office. After gearing up with waterproof waders, jackets, packs, binoculars, and a group spotting scope, our expert local guide will give a quick safety and trip briefing. Down at the float pond we will board a classic Alaskan floatplane transporting us on a breathtaking scenic flight from Juneau over the Tongass National Forest, providing unique access to Grizzly bear territory. Escorted by one of our knowledgeable local guides with more than a decade of experience, our guide will have an unparalleled safety record and have film credits from nature shows such as the BBC, Animal Planet, Discovery Nature, and more. Our bear viewing trip will give you the chance to view and photograph a variety of wildlife in their natural settings. Eagles, other birds, and harbor seals are commonly sighted on our trips. Brown Bears (also called Grizzly Bears) are almost always seen, and we occasionally see Sitka black-tailed deer and otters as well. The adventure starts with a wilderness hike exploring beaches and tidelands, then across sedge meadows and likely along a salmon stream. We will stop to watch bears wherever they are encountered sometimes sitting still for an hour at a time, your expert local guide will share their knowledge and love of the bear habitat in SouthEast Alaska. After several hours in the wilderness we will make our way back to the beach to catch the flight home. Take in another scenic flight back to Juneau 20-30 min. Pick up and drop off from any Juneau Cruise Ship Dock or Local Accommodation
