Check-In & Welcome Aboard Meet your crew at the A Pier Gate at your check-in time and board the Hale Kai. Quick safety briefing and intro to the day’s adventure. First Wildlife Encounter Observe wild dolphins surfing, resting, or socializing. Depending on conditions and wildlife behavior, you may get a chance to enter the water if appropriate and ethical. Snorkel at a Coral Reef or Turtle Cleaning Station Dive into crystal-clear water to swim among Hawaiian green sea turtles, colorful reef fish, and coral gardens. Refresh & Refuel Back onboard, enjoy light snacks, Lunch on midday charters, tropical juices, and shaded seating while the crew shares insights and answers questions. Second Wildlife or Snorkel Encounter (if time and conditions allow) From rare sightings like false killer whales to surface-active humpbacks or a secret coral reef, your tour may include a second ocean highlight, guided by real-time conditions. Return to Harbor – Wrap-Up & Farewell Head back with stories, memories, and maybe a few salty kisses from the sea. Optional wildlife recaps and photos may be shared after the tour.

What to Bring
- Swimsuit (wear under your clothes for an easy start) - Towel for drying off after snorkeling - Reef-safe sunscreen (mineral-based, no oxybenzone or octinoxate) - Sun protection: hat, sunglasses with a strap, rashguard or UV shirt - Reusable water bottle (filtered water is provided onboard) - Light jacket or windbreaker (it can get breezy out at sea) - Motion sickness remedy (if you’re prone—take it in advance!) - Waterproof camera or GoPro (optional, but great for memories) - Dry bag or Ziploc for phones or valuables (optional) - Cash tip for the crew (always appreciated for excellent service)
Restrictions
- All minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. - Guests entering the water must be comfortable swimmers. While floatation aids are provided, this is an ocean activity with natural conditions—basic swimming skills are required for safety. - Participants should be in good physical health and able to climb a short ladder back onto the boat after snorkeling. This tour is not recommended for those with limited mobility, back injuries, or recent surgeries. - We do not recommend this tour for pregnant individuals in later stages due to boat motion and the need to navigate uneven surfaces and swim ladders. - For safety reasons, children not able to sit independently in their own seat must be strapped to an adult guardian. There are no specific height requirements, but all guests must be able to wear a USCG-approved life vest if needed.
