Northern Lights & Chena Hot Springs Tour
What your day looks like
This small group guided tour from Fairbanks takes you to Chena Hot Springs Resort for an exciting but relaxing array of activities. Discover eye-popping sculptures at the on-site Aurora Ice Museum, home to intricately carved sculptures. We have a standing reservation for dinner in the restaurant where you can enjoy some Alaskan seafood and locally grown vegetables among the variety of dishes available. (Food and drinks are optional-not included in price) After dinner, unwind in the resort’s legendary hot mineral springs, hot tubs or indoor pool. Work on loosening those knots in your back in the healing waters averaging 106 degrees Fahrenheit (41 degrees Celsius) all year round. If the conditions are right your guide will advise you of the best locations to watch view the ethereal northern lights. Chena Hot Springs is one of the best viewing locations in the area, and even magical when it appears overhead while soaking in the hot springs. Chena Hot Springs is a great spot to witness the green and purple ribbons of light dancing in the sky. If you prefer to be indoors, you can grab a warm beverage to wrap your hands around and view the action from inside the Aurora Café. Afterwards, be transported back to your hotel, making stops along the way, if safe to do so, to see more of the northern lights, if they are still active.

What travelers are saying
What a great tour!! Gavin was wonderful at the Chena Hot Springs tour - he took extra time to make sure we got a good view of the lights and was very informative about local culture and info along the way. We also saw several Moose and he stopped to allow photos. Gina was awesome for the Northern Light tour - she had local information and was an expert on light shows and the aurora. We learned things we had not heard before and the light show was all we could have asked for - they viewing location was relaxing and informative and easy to spend several hours viewing the lights. Thank you for making it special
Unfortunately our tour guide showed up a half hour late, told us she didn't like her job, and slept on the sofa while we were doing the tour. Needless to say, she was fired the next day because so many people complained. On the flip side we did like the hot springs and got a glimpse of the aurora. This trip could be reduced to about 6-8 hours instead of 10 hours.
