The Experience

What your day looks like

Experience the best of both worlds on this unforgettable adventure! This 22-mile journey seamlessly combines the serene beauty of the Wilderness Wave with the thrilling rapids of the Canyon Wave, giving you the full spectrum of Alaskan rafting in one epic day. As you drift along, your guide will point out the landmarks—Mount Fellows, Sugarloaf, and Mount Healy rising majestically in the distance, while wildlife like harlequin duck and maybe even a moose quietly move along the riverbanks. The calm waters give you time to relax, soak in the sights, and listen to the peaceful sounds of the wilderness. But the adventure doesn’t end there. Once you’ve taken in the scenic wonders, get ready for an adrenaline-pumping ride through the Canyon Wave section! The river picks up speed, and soon, you’ll be tackling a series of action-packed rapids like Razorback, New Wave, and Train-wreck. Feel the rush as you plow through the foaming waters, the spray catching the sunlight, and the cold splash of the river hitting your face. Each rapid is a thrill in itself, with the current challenging your team to work together to navigate the twists and turns of the canyon. Whether you’re paddling hard as a team or riding the waves as an Oar Boat Rider, this trip offers a perfect blend of peaceful wilderness and exhilarating whitewater action. It’s the ultimate way to experience Denali’s wild beauty and heart-pounding rapids, all in one epic day.

What to Bring

We highly recommend wearing warm layers and a pair of warm socks to keep your feet warm. You will be rafting on a glacial river. Warm layers would include, thin base layer light long-sleeved shirt or thermals if you have them, mid mid-layer- long sleeve sweater, sweatshirt, fleece, or a vest, outer layer light puff jacket (without a hood if possible), rain jacket. A thin glove layered with a pair of dish gloves is a great way you keep your hands warm. Warm socks could be a wool pair of socks or an extra-thick pair of winter socks for skiing, or you can layer two socks and slide in a toe warmer in between the socks. Just remember- Your clothes keep you warm, our suits keep you dry.
